Cookie Policy

Plain & Frugal keeps tracking deliberately limited and gives visitors a clear choice before analytics storage is enabled.

Last updated: September 9, 2026

What is active today

Plain & Frugal uses Google Consent Mode with analytics storage denied by default. The Analytics tag can send cookieless measurement pings in that state, but it cannot read or write Analytics cookies. Analytics storage is enabled only after a visitor selects “Accept analytics” in the privacy panel. Advertising storage remains disabled. The site does not currently run Google AdSense, an email signup, or affiliate tracking.

The Use-It-Up Pantry Planner uses local browser storage so a visitor’s list can remain available on the same device. The entered list stays in that browser and is not sent to Plain & Frugal. It can be deleted with the planner’s reset control or through browser settings.

Strictly necessary technologies

These technologies support page delivery, security, load balancing, and remembering a privacy choice. Where applicable, they do not require consent because the requested service cannot operate reliably without them.

Optional audience measurement

With permission, Google Analytics measures page views, engagement, scrolling, outbound link clicks, broad device information, and approximate location. Plain & Frugal uses these reports to improve articles and tools. Advertising personalization and Google Signals are disabled in the site’s analytics configuration.

Google explains how it safeguards Analytics data in its Analytics privacy documentation.

Changing your choice

Use the “Privacy choices” button displayed on the site after making a selection. Choosing “Decline analytics cookies” keeps Analytics cookie storage denied on later pages in that browser. Cookieless measurement pings may still be sent. Clearing browser storage also removes the saved choice.

Consent before advertising

Before serving Google ads to visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, Plain & Frugal will implement a Google-certified consent management platform. Optional technologies that require consent will remain disabled until the visitor makes a choice. Refusing optional cookies will be as easy as accepting them.

Browser controls

Most browsers let you remove or block cookies through their privacy settings. Blocking strictly necessary storage can affect site reliability. Google advertising preferences can be reviewed through Google My Ad Center.
